The “Since 1975… encouraging and supporting the art of watercolor painting.”
Founded in 1975 by a small group of artists under the leadership of Joanne Scott, and incorporated as a nonprofit education organization in 1997, the Annapolis Watercolor Club (AWC) is devoted exclusively to the practice, education and promotion of watercolor as an art medium.
Membership is open to any interested person, and this year numbers more that 115 active participants, many of whom show their work and win awards throughout the region; some are recognized nationally. Many opportunities are offered for members to enjoy the companionship of other water media artists with whom they can exchange ideas, information, advice an encouragement. Regional as well as nationally known professional artists are selected to demonstrate their techniques at monthly meetings, to conduct workshop and to judge club exhibitions.
